Try the everyday routes
Start at the building’s parking exit, drive your likely commute and walk to a supermarket or café you would actually use. A short distance on a map may involve a long crossing, an exposed walk or a difficult turn out of the car park.
If you expect to use public transport, walk the full route to the station or stop. Check shade, crossings and the last stretch home, not only the advertised distance.
See the evening version
Return after dark to check lighting, street activity and noise. Listen from the apartment as well as the pavement. The same building can feel very different at different hours.
You are choosing the small journeys you will repeat every week. Testing them is often more useful than comparing neighbourhood names alone.
